Re: Post-of-the-month results - December 2010

I believe there should be a limit of one prize per person per month - simply to encourage many people to post on the forums. If one person (no names mentioned) wins all three prizes every month, then others might stop posting quality posts.

I am inclined to agree with this otherwise it becomes predictable and self defeating. In fact if it happened every month as it could (given the popularity of certain posts). then there becomes no point in having it at all.( As Bruce has said already others might stop posting) maybe because they see it as pointless.

Kevin wrote "What happen if one month Expresso or XXXRaich posts up 2 or 3 grate freebiess
are they to miss out?" In my opinion they won't because they will still get equal chances to win one prize. It will be a level playing field for everyone

There is a link that says

"Click here to subscribe to BBC Magazines" Works ok here and added to statement almost instantly £1.00 for 4 issues of the Radio Times. :)

Re: imutual PLC 2011 results and AGM details

I think it needs to be acknowledged that the effort and faith (never mind the money) that Mr & Mrs Yendall have put into this business is imense. I for one am very grateful for the support they are giving. At the very least they deserve a round of applause

I actually attempted to join Twitter last night, Fell at the first hurdle though. I could not understand the point of it all.

Re: Proposed change to "shares for posting"

This seems to me to be fair. Unlike Richard I do think there was an element of posting for shares and never mind the quality. This I think will encourage better posts. Although the overall number may go down. I think that will be acceptable if the quality increases.

Re: Become a Sharing Star

I really do not want to appear to be negative but this all appears very gimmicky.

It would be nice to come up with something that encouraged existing members who do not use the forum to start using it. It still feels like the forum is a very select club there are 2903 members today and as at today's date individual non staff posters were 89 to have posted in the forum this month. This seems low. Increasing the amount of active posters will achieve more forum activity and the potential benefits that would bring are immense.

Re: Daily clicks topics

I often think that people go over the top with their reporting of clicks not working and wonder how much of it is to do with the fact that some people may be getting their one shares worth. The clicks often work on the second attempt anyway. It does all seem a bit OTT and for a penny or 2p. I am usually quite happy to suck it and see without a song and dance.

"Or should we just be more careful about choice of topic titles?"

This would not work. Most people would ignore it and do they same as they always do. And a lot of people are very selective in their reading of the forums.

Re: Daily clicks topics

I do not understand why people do not make more use of the report a broken link feature. I think it was 5 shares Richard promised for each correctly broken one reported. (Not that mine have ever been given for the broken links I have reported)

I think this was just a thing when we started up
Sure it's not goin now

it is the third button under Visit Retailer on the landing page, the one showing a link with a cross on it. It has worked every time I have used it.

Re: New claims "appeals" process

It seems to me to be a very open and honest way of dealing with the process and an extension of the mutual process. I have no issues with it.

Re: New claims "appeals" process

Would encourage mutiple/fradulent claims

Why would it :?: - I-Mutual/Richard Yendall would be aware of both the identity of the Ids and transaction/claim history of the Ids ;)

My thoughts entirely, how could it encourage multiple/fraudulent claims. However the member concerned is supposed to be able to put the case for the claim being paid. Therefore it cannot be anonymous unless they make the case and Richard posts on their behalf.

Re: New claims "appeals" process

I have to say as someone who has put in several claims. I have no problems with the way the site runs at the moment. I do accept that sometimes I will lose. What Richard is proposing gives the member an additional form of redress if he/she feels aggrieved. That has to be a good thing. I am not prepared to follow the legal path. (Although I do agree with CashBackLover that I am not sure sites would have a leg to stand on if it was ever tested) At the end of the day it is about doing business with those you trust. There are some high street stores that I will not do business with in the same way there are some cashback sites I would not touch with a bargepole. I would also add that it is unlikely I personally would take a claim to appeal in this way. Unless maybe if it was for a big claim. Even then I would probably think twice before going ahead.

Woud you appeal against a rejection if it was done same way as T and Q sites do it - confidentialy through account support ticket :?:

I meant would you appeal against a rejection here if it was done purely via support ticket as opposed to proposed idea which you said ;)

Yes I would and have done on one occasion! But as I understand it this would be after that process has been exhausted. So in effect it would be a final appeal.

Re: New claims "appeals" process

Well, yes, members always have the option of contacting us in private using the query system. But unless they provide some further information that wasn't part of the original claim (like, my brother's a top lawyer and I'll sue  ) then I'm not sure on what basis we'd change our decision :?

And on the occasion I did appeal through the query system because the merchant rejected my claim that is exactly what happened. I provided an invoice from the merchant concerned.

Re: New claims "appeals" process

I have been watching this thread with interest and just thought I'd express my two pennies worth ;)
It is my belief that the whole idea of a "mutual" or "co-operative"is operated on the basis of one member, one vote system. ;)

We are a Mutual company With Share holders
We are all encourage to earn shares.
The people who earn the most shares should have a bigger say than the people who shop around for thye best cashback

What is the point of me focusin on IMUTual only to be told I have the same vote as JBloggs who join yesterday cause he wanted to buy a DVD from play.com and make himself an extra penny casbac and has no interest in Imutual beyond that extra penny?

Thank you kevinchess1 for making this post readable. For once I actually read one of your posts and found it understandable. Normally being naturally lazy I do not even bother to try reading them.

You make a good point and one I can identify with. "The people who earn the most shares should have a bigger say than the people who shop around for thye best cashback"

I think what I would say is that you reap what you sow. We have been given a unique opportunity to be in at the beginning of something that has great potential. It will only reach that potential if those who are committed work to help it achieve. Inevitably there are those who will be in for the ride. That is life. But as an organisation we need those people as much as we need the committed individuals.

Maybe it is right that the more shares people have the more votes they should have, or maybe it should be one member one vote. We are children learning and growing and in time a level will be found.

Re: quidco results to 31/7/2011

I'm guessin a lot of their profits are from their £5 'Admin?' charge
Maybe CBL can answer how People can pay £5 a year when other sites don't have any charges :?:
Perhaps the belief that most cashbac users are after 'Maximun Cashbac' is a false assumption

Of course a lot of their increase will be from their Television advertising campaign.

A lot of people may pay £5 annually because they do not know about other C/B sites that make no charge esp if they come in through the TV route and have not done any homework.

A case to be made for advertising? I think there are points for and against. Biggest minus is the cost and targeting it effectively.

Re: quidco results to 31/7/2011

Bar the new merchant suggestion thread which I will continue to post on for as long as you continue to pay 100% rate on all no spend offers that are added to the site I will leave the rest of I-Mutual forum discussions to you and your apparent followers as I really have other things that would be much more productive for me to do.
I think it is a shame that anyone feels they cannot post any longer and not really in the spirit of imutual. Both sides have valid points. Although sometimes it does feel as though marks are trying to be scored.
