Re: AGM - Don't forget to vote!

what about attending in person? is that an option? welcomed?
perhaps an excuse for a few sneaky pints?
RY, HH and Oggy all deserve a pint on me for one reason or another

Re: Proposed change to "shares for posting"

"Kalpesh wrote:

"I'm happy with it as it is - seems to work well. "

me too

i often read a post that is helpful/interesting/funny or whatever and dont think to 'Like'
i think encouraging volume of posts, either quality or re. a 'proper' subject, is a good thing

as requested, i have made an effort to help build the Finance & Property forum. i dont assume that the shares will ever be really valuable, but it's nice to 'be part of' the site and to receive shares as reward for being involved in discussions

Re: Daily clicks topics

in my defence, ive intentionally started threads with "xxxx xxxx not tracking" as the title, so that they can indeed be found....whereas other general threads re. clicks make them hard to find. ive tried to start threads re. a particular subject, such as Cheaper Deals, which fell back when was working, and then was resurrected when CD was down again

Re: Change to "posting incentive" - discuss & vote

does this mean me? not a real member?
i assume this is just a theoretical example, as i'm certainly not routinely liking anyone's posts.

Re: Lloyds Banks Share Sale - Register your interest

thank you for the reply ud..
i see what you mean. the shares could easily dip by 5%.. but i shall probably have a slice too.
i don't really see Property/Land as alternatives to this. they represent a very different prospect altogether.

Re: Undervalued shares with good dividend

it would be surprising if Tesco bought Morrisons imo
the 'space race' has long since ended, and taking over existing stores in volume would seem like an extenstion of that to me

Re: Undervalued shares with good dividend

Astra Zeneca and Glaxo stand out to me..
along with HSBC
and Aviva and Legal & General ought to be fairly solid dividend payers
Unilever and Vodafone too
i don't think any of those are bad value at the moment..
and if you want something spicy & are prepared to try to catch the falling knife, a miner, such as Anglo American, could be a good long-termer from this point as the sector has been hammered, they've made some mistakes, but have some quality assets too.

Re: This could be disasterous

interesting deal..
fwiw i bought in & out of both Tesco and Morrisons over a period of time, taking profits and then buying back in on overreactions, but came to the point that i decided i wanted to back one retail horse, and came to the conclusion that Amazon is the company to own. and it has done very well for me... accepting that i ought to have taken a 160% profit late last year, with a view to buying back in later.. but i held on, at one point the week before last i was only 100% up. which sounds great, but i thought i was on course to treble my money :silent:
just checked and i'm now 129.31% up, so back on the rise
