Tinker tatlor Soldier Spy

Post by zulu17 » Tue Sep 27 2011 10:03am

Went to see it last night -- certainly different to the modern day action spy thillers - good nonetheless although I couldn't help thinking of Alec Guinness great performance as Sniley in tthe previous version. Certainly a much better remake than say Brighton Rock.

It's okay.
I got the feeling that gary Oldman was playing Sir Alex Guiness version of Mr Smiley rather than John Le Carre idea of him.
Also if you know who the spy is it does kinda slow things up
But still well worth a luke.

my copy of the book is signed, and in good nick, as it happens. not sure whether it's worth a few quid. i think JLC is still alive, that right? i probably need to wait for him to keel over
