This is part of the "cooperation" between the councils....... obviously working for the benefit of residents (not).
Mine was 4.7% increase. Garden waste charges start in the following financial year. As they will also then start collecting Glass and plastics (they do not at the moment). There are trying to sell it as a better service. They will also then be co-operating with other councils to do it.

Agreed , people with larger gardens will probably be paying more in council tax anyway

They want £3 a month to collect my grass trimmings
I've a good mind to fly tip them into a field
See how they like that

I'm opposite a churchyard the gardeners there have a bonfire every so often.

My bin isn't big enough to hold my grass clippings, nor for the leaves in Autumn - so I think they can go whistle for the extra.
I live on a private road with no streetlights, so I get fantastic value for my Council Tax!!
Just because I'm paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not out to get me

Pointless - Council has been too busy relocating to a new building and selling on the old one to notice...... oh and overriding public objections and Parish council recommendations to approve ugly and/or inappropriate building plans.
Now, I'm not saying that backhanders form part of the planning process - but many others are!

The residents don't complain, I'm guessing.
