Where to start researching companies for us to potentially start discussing
Here is a brief list of websites to view where you can start researching companies, any you feel that are of interest you can then bring to the table when its time to start discussing potential investment opportunities
The list is small, if anyone has any websites they would like to contribute then please speak up and we can get this added to the list:
The clubs shares broker is 'The Share Centre', they host a huge database of information that may be worth viewing. They offer a section called 'Share Tip of the Week'. Get used to looking at this. They offer some decent information and the more you read the better you will start to understand: https://www.share.com/find-investments/ ... -the-week/
There are companies that want to float on to the stock market. Before they launch on the the market the have what's called an IPO (initial public offering) These can be brilliant, some companies when they go live on the market the shares can double, triple or even quadruple in value, they can also go the opposite way. Either way, these can be good to keep an eye on. Monitor companies here: http://www.ft.com/topics/themes/IPOs
Dividends - There are some fantastic companies out there that pay brilliant yields, and gradual share price increased. This link will show the supposed top 20 paying dividend yields (not verified it yet, but will) When handled correctly, these can rapidly increase investment, especially when there will potentially be a lot of people in the club: http://www.morningstar.co.uk/uk/news/11 ... tocks.aspx
I hope you find these useful - If you would like me to add any links please let me know
Thanks
