TWO TIERS of Bank Customers! A touch discriminatory.

I joined under the old regime i.e. before March 1st this year so I'm allowed to earn 3% gross on upto £2k in my Plus account but get nothing for having DDs or using my Debit card (which can equate to an additional £120 gross per year! For those joining after 1st March)

I asked at the branch if I could switch, and was told emphatically NO! So now TSB are running a 2 tier system, those "old" established customers like me, and the "new" ones who joined after 01/03/2017.

3% is now only on 1st £1,500

those joining prior to 1st March don't have to have any DD's

i agree with poland though, expressman: it isn't good treatment of existing customers, and i guess most customers have at least two DDs in place already [i do].

can existing customers open a 2nd account with TSB and receive the new benefits?

There's nothing new about a bank operating multiple types of accounts or sets of T&Cs though; they've all done it for as long as I can remember. An additional account is probably worth a try; unless it's changed you may be able to open a Classic Account then upgrade it to Classic Plus.

You also get 5% back on £100 contactless spend per month until September I believe
