Proof of postage - help stop Ebay scammers

Postby expressman33 » Mon Jan 29, 2018 2:16 pm

If you are sending a low cost item to an Ebay buyer you probably won't want to pay to get a signature on delivery, so some scammers may say they have never received the item . You could ask for proof of postage at the Post Office :
Or you could try printing a label off yourself using "Click and Drop" from the Royal Mail . On parcels you even save a bit on the cost of postage

whist it is not proof of delivery it may help in a dispute

Yes, I think the only thing relevant in a claim is to prove delivery has been made and the buyer has received.

Except of course even proof of delivery is no proof of delivery I recently ordered something on ebay (clicked through but no commission or tracking on the account) they sent it tracked and the tracking shows it was signed for by me with the exception of course that it was not delivered to me I never signed for it and the signature is nothing like mine.

Now I have to go through all the trouble of proving I am not scamming the sender because Parcel Farce can't deliver anything correctly because the site says delivered.

Yes
Just because they say it's been delivered don't mean ebay/paypal will take your side
