How many active members do these sites have? I remember many years ago a paid to read emails owner wanted to be as big as Donkey Mails. He died before he could do this but in reality it was never going to happe. Ron used to remove anyone inactive for certain length of time (might have been a year). The owner of Donkey Mails never removed any inactive. So the amount of members was high but the amount of active members was far, far lower
Keep smiling because the light at the end of someone's tunnel may be you, Ron Cheneler

Even if 95% were inactive, each would still have 100 times more active members than total membership here.

Pointless question as the figures are not publicly available. The owners of most sites prefer to be obtuse about such figures.

In that vein, I wonder what proportion of revenue and clicks derives from purchases (as opposed to daily/weekly clicks).
The simple answer:
Not enough (full stop)

That being so, the demise of most of the daily clicks means that IM's income falls, and possibly below a level to cover the operating costs.

I was under the impression that
most of the daily clicks were provided on a cost basis and that there was no profit on them. I think some of the higher ones do have something skimmed off. It is true to say however that a lower footfall probably means that less people will use the % merchants where a profit can be made.
