I noticed that my regular pack of John West Sardines had risen from 79p to 89p this week too.
Things are getting tough - I'll have to consider those "fake" supermarkets soon :-)

At the end of the day you make a good saving and the quality is good, even I would say very good.

Of course!! :shifty: - hot on the heels of announcing a drop in the cost of call-only line rental!!

For those of us who remember walking to the phonebox with a pocket full of change, things improved after privatization, with call preices dropping towards 1p a minute for a local calls. Then the use of VoIP and alternative providers ushered in the "connection charge" to ensure the hosting company still made their bunce....... the cost of calls and this "connection charge" has soared - with the excuse that people can buy "packages" - with this increase the BT charges will go up as follows:

Call set-up fees will rise from 21p to 22p per call – a 4.7% increase
Calls to UK landlines will rise from 12p per minute to 13p per minute – an 8.3% increase
Calls to mobiles will rise from 16p per minute to 17p per minute – a 6.2% increase.

If you deide to take a BT "anythime" package instead it will be £9.50 per month – a 5.6% increase (and that was £5 a couple of years back)

So a 3 minute local call could cost 58p - or alternatively, on an "expensive" PAYG mobile, 9p on the 3 network. The buzzards are circling................... :eh:
Just because I'm paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not out to get me
