Don’t all beds have 4 feet?

I heard a radio discussion once about new build homes. Lots of tricks to make the show home rooms seem bigger. Like the 4ft double bed and the 2ft 6ins single.

The best laugh I had was the professional arguing with the phone caller. It had been pointed out there was no TV or Music Centre in the lounge. He argued that they could not put them in because the public would steal them. The phone caller pointed out that lots of shops have cardboard representations of them on show. The reply was the same, they would be stolen. Doh! No, they would not but fill a show house with the sort of furniture etc that a normal family have and the room would have seemed so much smaller but we would not admit that.

Same thing with wardrobes in the bedrooms. Not that they'd be stolen, but they make the rooms feel smaller.

Wonder how many people who go round the show homes notice what is actully missing but is in their existing home

I've just checked, and you're right - our bed has 8.

4 here. But any beds here have to be self assembly. When our house was built you removed the sash windows and took the furniture into the bedroom via the window. Now we have double glazing and cannot bend furniture round the door to get it up the stairs and into the bedrooms.

Very easy to remove a double glazed panel especially if the beading is on the inside
