Post-of-the-month results - February 2018

I'm pleased to announce that the winners of the Post-of-the-month competition for February 2018, as determined by ratings by our members, are:

Winner (100 shares): expressman33 for the post in the topic Free Tin of Princes Mackerel with 11 thanks

Runner-up (25 shares): macliam for the post in the topic Re: Quidco Finding Cupid with 10 thanks

In my opinion this competition is a farce. The winner won because four of the votes were from either family or extended family. Take those away and he should be third and that would depend on the number of shares those thanking had. Having said that he made a good post and like many of his posts went under appreciated by many of the membership.

The thanks system on here in my opinion is not up to scratch and is greatly under used.

Maybe better posts were not thanked as much , but it only takes one click for members to thank a post but most don't bother

To avoid any suggestion that family are boosting thanks we should all refrain from thanking relatives by blood or marriage. But that should only be a voluntary ban and not have to be enforced by the staff here who quite frankly have far more important things to do with their time.
