I have had an email (that I will post tomorrow but in a hurry at the moment) from the owner of the place he worked at. There was a charity collection at the funeral. I will find out the website etc of the charity tomorrow.

Yes, I am going to donate but wondered if any others would like to make a donation in his name and if we should do it via Richard as an imutual group donation. The owners could be told how much was donated in Kev's name and ask them to pass this on to his wife.

Just a thought and tohers might not agree with my idea of course.

Something to consider:
If there's a Gift Aid option, the charity could benefit more when tax payers donate individually.

I think it would be appropriate for iMutual to make a donation, whether as individual members, or combined as a single donation through iMutual.

Do we have the facility to gather donations from members, and pass them on as iMutual?
Or is it simpler (and noting Sarah's comment about Gift Aid) to just let us each individually donate directly?

I cannot do gift aid but if you can that would be a great way to increase the amount raised. Maybe Richard could collect the money via paypal and then pass on the amount using gift aid.

I will hold off passing on details of the charity until we hear from Richard.

That wouldn't be permitted blythburgh.
Gift Aid should not be claimed when:
...
* Making a donation on behalf of someone else or a group of people. For example, if a friend gives you £10 which you donate to your Fundraising Page using your own card and details. Even if your friend is a UK taxpayer, the donation is not eligible because HMRC needs to know the details of the person actually contributing the funds.

* Making a donation on behalf of a company. You can only make Gift Aid declarations on your own taxpayer status when spending your own money. However, a company can claim tax relief on the donation when donating directly to the charity.

I have just seen this. Gutted would be an understatement.

Thank you for the cashback tips, thank you for the competitions, but most of all thank you for the laughs.

Farewell old friend.
