Can anyone suggest what possible value this email adds?

It doesn't say what the package is,
It doesn't say who it's from,
It doesn't say when it will be delivered,
It just appears to tick some obscure box for Evri.
Still, at least it was actually delivered to my inbox
just be glad, i got a mail from them to tell me they left it in a safe place, it was so safe the package wasnt found. The driver was made to come back and he had thrown it over the fence. Evri response was too bad contact the person you bought the item from to replace it.
Your order from GFS (who they?)
Barcode number: (meaningless internal code)
- We're expecting it (date/time)
- We've got it (date/time)
- On its way (date/time)
All of no help at all.....to me
I can guess what it is, but there's nothing here to confirm it.
I must be lucky, not a big receiver of parcels but Hermes/Evri and Royal Mail cannot be faulted. I have even got the reputation of the "go to person" for very local parcels when there no answer at the address.
Keep smiling because the light at the end of someone's tunnel may be you, Ron Cheneler
Well, I'm about to find out what it is....... it has been delivered to the pick-up point (or so I'm told)
ETA - It was a printer I had ordered online. I have at least 4 itemsto be delivered, so some clue as to what retailer this was from, or Order # would have helped.
Worst of all, it was all on the label!!
Idiots.
Just because I'm paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not out to get me
I think it's reassuring to know that something is happening with your order, and confirming it's still on track. But it would be more meaningful if the email contained information to identify what the order is.
I've recently had a couple of emails relating to future theatre events, just reminding me that my tickets would be issued two weeks before the performance. I'm going to hazard a guess that the timing of those emails is due the time when people start phoning up asking where their tickets are. So although the email tells me nothing new, it has served a purpose for someone.
OK, it might have been better than hearing nothing at all..... but it was such a missed opportunity to provide so meaninful information - all of which was available to them. Instead they chose to reveal internal information useful only to them.
It's like ordering a book from the library and receiving an email to say a different library contains books and is open on Tuesdays......
