Your statement is not clear to me at all. I think if it is genetic there is no reason at all why a homosexual gene should not be passed from parent to child.

from 1 of your parents
...errr... If your father is your father he can't be homesexual can he?
Of course he can be! Why do you think he can't. Do you think a gay man is not capable of producing babies?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biology_an ... rientation
No simple, single cause for sexual orientation has been conclusively demonstrated. Various studies point to different, even conflicting positions, but research generally suggests that sexual orientation is a combination of genetic, hormonal, and environmental influences
i.e. it's not a lifestyle choice

Thank you Richard, Maybe some people still think that homosexuality is a lifestyle choice. But for me I know it is not. Whilst happy now. In my early years it was something I struggled very hard with and not a lifestyle I would have chosen given a choice.

I've never really understood the relevance of the argument as to whether people are gay by choice or design. I don't think being "born gay" validates someone, any more than making a lifestyle choice invalidates someone. That people do develop their sexuality at a very young age may well be a matter of fact, but the defence sometimes strays into the area of "it's okay, they can't help it" - which is a patronising slap in the face. Personally I don't care whether someone has always known they're gay or whether they woke up one morning and fancied trying it out. If it's fully consensual between adults there should be no further moral validation needed. And as for marriage, I think homosexuals have every right to be as thoroughly miserable as heterosexuals.

But apart from that Mrs Lincoln how was the play?

Surely the only relevant factor is whether two people are happy together and want to share their lives together regardless of gender?
Gay marriage is simply to afford same gender relationships the same status as presently only available to male/female marriage.

I'm puzzled, homosexuals already have a Civil Union why do they need a marriage?

The media have used that term a lot, all sinking to tabloid levels on this issue. The consultation was for 'Equal Marriage' and the vote is for 'Same Sex Marriage'.

Why does anyone need one?

Why should anyone have the right to be married? Why should you? Would you be upset if you could not legally marry?

Are you implying a Civil Union is not legal?

Of course not.

Not unless you're heterosexual.
