Should couples have to get tested before marriage then? How many offspring must they have? Should divorce be mandatory following a vasectomy or hysterectomy?

Not really. Either all people are created equal and entitled to the same rights - or they're not.

Obviously they're not - do you expect men to give birth? How many men are allowed in the Women's Institute?

What rights do you get by changing a definition? Especially the one in question? Everybody has these rights anyway!

Funnily enough, you get treated equally. How terrible!

At least they will after the law changes, instead of only the privileged having them. Hooray for progress!

What extra rights do you expect to get? Nothing!

Sigh! :(

If you were correct about marriage already being identical to civil partnership then surely there'd be even less point in anyone opposing the plans. I don't need to stand to gain anything from a change to know it's fundamentally right to support equality.

If marriage is only about procreation then you should have a law banning people like me marrying. An early hysterectomy before I met 'im indoors meant that the Vicar had to cut a bit out of the marriage ceremony as there was no chance of children. With no ovaries or womb it was completely impoosible. And he was happy to do that.

I simply cannot believe that anybody would put themselves through the misery of being a teenager who was "different", or being a homosexual when it was illegal. The number of men who got a criminal record or were blackmailed before the law changed and are still alive is larger than many of you would imagine. Would those men put themselves into that position if they had a choice of which sex they preferred?

Well put Sarah.
I'm organising a march through Brighton to promote heterosexuality I'm going to called it 'Hetro Pride' will you help?
Also forming an organisation for White police officers to push for their rights.
Also campaigning for Murrays Edwards College at Cambridge to admit men, why are they deny the right to a decent education?
And pushing for a ban on disabled parking spaces, they can walk like the rest of us
and Urinals in ladies loos
Should be enough to be going on with

Gay marriage What's your thoughts?

... With the state of Britain right now it should not even be on the agenda. Barring an attack from another nation it is difficult to image Britain could be in a more perilous position than it is today.
