Re: Should we promote Pay Day loan companies?

I haven't voted on this, partly due to lack of clarity as to exactly what "promote" implies. I'm unenthusiastic about payday loans for all the reasons mentioned by others but, equally, I don't believe in the "nanny state" mentality which decides how to "protect" people from the consequences of their...

Re: How well we're dealing with your claims

I'm not sure that it's technically a "claim" but I've one issue which I'll mention as it may be of wider interest. I have a transaction - City Bingo - from as far back as 27 April which was marked as "extended" in July. Nothing since, as far as I can see. What's the correct means of dealing with thi...

Re: How well we're dealing with your claims

The trouble with instances such as City Bingo is that typically, by the time the transaction is eventually rejected, the merchant is no longer active and one is forced to rely on memory as to what the transaction actually was. In this particular case, my recollection is that the transaction offered ...

Re: 2013 accounts and notice of AGM

I don't see anything obviously controversial in the accounts or the resolutions to be put to the AGM. I'm not myself convinced that the comparisons with Quidco and TCB are particularly meaningful (and, while I'm not a lawyer, I think we need to be careful what we say about being better than the oppo...

Re: 2013 accounts and notice of AGM

Torus, you're right in one sense. But, if the company's future earnings are all predetermined as being payable out by way of cashback rather than dividends, no-one would want to buy the site - consequently the shares, as I said before, would be of little value.

Re: 2013 accounts and notice of AGM

Actually, this particular line (cashback versus dividends) of discussion is best perhaps continued - if indeed anyone wants to continue it - in the Shareholders forum.

Re: "100%" cashback sites retain £40m!

If I was going to be Devil's Advocate on this one, I'd point out that (taking the latest set of figures in each case) iMutual distributes only some 75% of its revenue as cashback whereas the counterpart Quidco figure is around 80% and TCB's over 85%. I'm not saying that this way of looking at things...

Re: £13.50 cashback @ Money Dashboard!

Having been stuck trying to enter bank details, followed tonyg's recommendation above and, sure enough, it's happy to take my credit card details (but still not bank details). Only snag with credit card details is that Money Dashboard requests PIN number. As far as I can see, if someone manages to h...

Re: hello

I’ve been rather remiss in not saying ‘Welcome’ to new members so let me make up for it now. As others have said, the forums are good entertainment value and well as being occasionally informative. The cashback is certainly comparable with elsewhere and, who knows, those shares could be worth someth...
