Halifax Rewards to be scrapped

the account is on the way out, cDecember.
the £5/m days were handy.. just £2/m nowadays, so not a huge loss, but still a shame.
apparently they are going to be offering something to 'reward loyalty' of account holders. we shall see.

Re: Halifax Rewards to be scrapped

it matters to a saver that wants a return.. my question is: what rate can we achieve with Halifax, whilst giving us the chance of a prize on top?

Re: Tories plan to raise the state pension age to 75 over the next 16 years

well, no, that's not right. the state is going to help, by providing the state pension. that's part of our retirement income. but yes, we all need to try to put some aside for the future too.

Re: Tories plan to raise the state pension age to 75 over the next 16 years

the verdict is correct, of course. this is the new reality, equality from the state. and we all need to try to put some aside for the future through Pensions/ISAs/other investments, alongside.

Re: Tories plan to raise the state pension age to 75 over the next 16 years

it's not ludicrously worthless, it just is what it is. future governments will govern, and make changes as they determine they should. we can listen to what current ministers/authorities have to say, accept that things change, and act accordingly. well, no, that's not right. the state is going to he...

Re: First Direct / HSBC Regular Saver cut to 2.75%

i recently set up another PremRegSav, and sits alongside M&S and Nationwide, all at 5%. but i agree with you..2.75% isn't worth doing, and assuming M&S have dropped their rate by the time comes, i don't see myself renewing any of them. from the days of 24 Credit Cards, and all sorts of Current and S...
