Re: Donald Trump's state visit set for 3 June

I have no desire to welcome this person to our country. Nevertheless, Mr Trump is the head of state of a country with which we have long-standing and close relationship. We should respect the office, if not the person. I also have no desire to protest about his visit. To misquote Oscar Wilde - there...

Re: Some people have weird views

I do not find it odd that anyone from the LGBT community or people of colour feel the Tory party is the one that is closest to their views. Really? The Tories were the party that introduced "clause 28" and were historically much more hostile towards LGBT people, whereas the left were much more like...

Re: Local elections musical chairs

Aren't county councillors voluntary roles? AFAIK, most receive (taxable) allowances which are a long way off a full time salary. Some might not even reach minimum wage if the allowance was divided by the time spent.

Re: Local elections musical chairs

It may be more to do with ensuring Mr Farage continues to have an income rather than his ego. No-one has shown much interest in him since the wipe of UKIP in 2017.

Re: Good to know...

FFS, Mr Boro Boy: you complain about people twisting your words and then try and twist your own. When you talk of remoaners or do-gooding lefties that is insulting to those who hold pro-EU or pro-green views. It's not just "a description of members of that group" (your words). And, btw, when I recen...

Re: £3 cashback on purchases over £5 at TCB

As expressman says, you have to activate these bonus offers. Sometimes the reported spend excludes VAT or delivery charges.
I've never had one fail to track at Q or TCB (except when I didn't actually buy anything to qualify).

Re: Good to know...

.. you seem to always want to make it personal.. Mr Boro Boy: it seems to me that in these words, you are talking to yourself. In this thread, you refer to one poster as a "remoaner" and another as "not a nice person". In threads about environmental policy, you deride greens as "do-gooding lefties"...

Auto aid used to be on TCB. It's no longer available. MSE shows as an affiliate link but doesn't appear to go through AWC.

To save you the huge effort of clicking through for yourself, they're both a % of booking amount and not a daily click.

(edit - they have now been changed to show an amount)

Re: Anti-Semitism - again?

Thanks for the clarification. To pick up on an idea not explored in another thread, black is black only if you reduce things to binary questions of yes/no, good/bad. Israel and her friends are happy to blur the line between anti-semitism and fair criticism of Israel - because it gives the Israeli st...
