Its seldom that I will report back to members on an up and coming film launch that I did not like but Long Shot (starring Seth Rogen [who I usually like a lot] and Charlize Theron) is one.
Words like puerile, lacking-direction, unfunny etc. all come to mind. This was meant to be a rom-com about a boy and his baby-sitter who grows up to become the US's 1st female President (and her partner); but it looses its way at many levels. It attempts to make itself up to date with green issues, gross sexual references and right wing / left wing politics, all which might date this film very quickly. It really looses it for me when it tries to purvey the normalising of drug taking...!
Not one to take the kids to, in fact avoid it yourself but unfortunately there will be those who like it for its anti establishment normalisation.
For me a big miss!
