Imutual FA Cup - The Final

Post by pieman » Mon May 09 2022 6:22pm

Saturday May 14th 4.45pm

FA Cup Final

Chelsea vs Liverpool

Your final 3 picks of this season

A) The 90 min pick - either select one of the teams to win (ie Liverpool or Chelsea) or select draw - a correct pick is 12 points, incorrect is zero

B) Total number of goals scored in the match (including those in extra time if appropriate but excluding any in a penalty shoot out)

10 points if spot on BUT -2 for every goal your are out - ie selecting 12 goals in total but only 1 being scored means minus 22 points!!)

C) Total number of cards given in the match (including those in extra time if appropriate). Yellow cards count as 1, Red cards count as 2.

10 points if spot on BUT -2 for every cards out your are out - ie selecting 12 cards in total but only 1 being given means minus 22 points!!)

FA Cup Final.
That's much more tricky now, first you can win some points and then lose them all again.

a) A DRAW after normal 90 minutes of game
b) 4 Goals, in total including Extra time.
c) 5 cards, in total

I'm playing Devil's advocate here.
I've followed Chelsea right the way through from the FA Cup round 3 start and they are my nominated team to reach the final, which they now have.
BUT I am going to go for...

A) Liverpool to WIN in normal match time.
B) Total goals 5
C) Cards 4

Chelsea's form leaves a little to be desired, plus the sale of the club gives a touch of unrest.

It must have been the way you said it pieman. :|

Blimey

Must be way I wrote it -

You need to Pick 3 things

A) Winner or draw

B) Number of goals

C) Number of Cards

So my picks are:

A) Draw after 90 mins

B) 3 Goals (in total)

C) 2 cards in total

Well the minus points certainly had an impact on the results of this round -

though ultimately maybe did not affect the final result

This round

Pieman = +4

Fanny 15 = - 4

Scroggie = -10

Swissman = -10

Poland 71 = -16

The final Results

Poland71 (the only person to pick a finalist and so gets an extra 10 points) = 51

Fanny15 = 48

Pieman = 41

Scroggie = 36

Swissman = 24

Well done to Poland 71!!

Thos extra 10 points made all the difference in the end.

In theory you should get a prize, but, judging by the lack of response to my emails, at the moment it appears unlikely :cry:
