Listening to Radio 4 as per usual. Tell us your cycling stories say the hosts.

Reminded me of my friend Dave, would have been in his 50's and in good health apart from being celiac and plump but a fair bit off being obese in those days.

He had never managed to ride a bike although he had tried when younger.

Fitness wise on a scale of 1 to 100 I would say 5.

But he found a trike for sale and bought it. Unfortunately it did not have any gears but he still took it out for a ride, not a long one obviously but longer than he should have done. He did get back home in the end but was in a state of utter exhaustion.

Decided to buy gears for it but never got around to it.
