Share offers increased tenfold

We've had feedback from some of you about changing the number of shares offered; specifically to avoid the problem where members just miss out on a share because their order value is slightly under the required amount. e.g. we offer 1 share per £20 spent and your order comes to £19.99 meaning you just miss out on a share
There have been some good suggestions from our members to solve this, including the idea that part-shares (or "shards") could be accumulated for transactions like this. But in the interests of simplicity, we have decided that the best solution to this is to increase ALL share rewards by 10 i.e. you now get ten times as many shares as you used to. Additionally, when calculating shares per £ spent we will round the order value (as reported by the merchant) to the nearest £1
So in the above example the offer would change from "1 share per £20 spent" to "1 share per £2 spent" and a purchase of £19.99 would earn 10 shares.
All offers of a fixed number of shares have been similarly increased e.g. if we were offering 50 shares for a certain kind of transaction before, we are now offering 500 shares. This has also been applied to the joining, tell-a-friend and post-of-the-month bonuses (up from 10 to 100 shares).
And we are applying this increase retrospectively to all previous transactions (by awarding extra shares), so that nobody who has already earned shares misses out
These increases will be reflected on your statement over the next 24 hours and when we next send you an up-to-date share certificate
I hope you agree that this change makes the share offers fairer for all members. As always, we're happy to hear your feedback and field your questions
