Sorry Kevin but should Kevinchess1 get 25 shares runner up and also a special award for the same thread

What is written here suggests Kevinchess1 is entitled to both prizes...

Quote: "Note: someone receiving a 'special award' can still qualify for potm with their other posts."

Presumably they are classed as different posts: P-O-T-M = 11 thanks, Special Award = 16 thanks ?...

From now onwards, I will promote such posts (provided they've received a fair number of thanks) to a 'special' status and award 100 shares. But they'll then be excluded from potm awards - because I think the spirit of potm should be to recognise and encourage ad hoc contributions on a variety of subjects, and it would also be good to see the prizes shared out amongst more members, especially newbies.
Note: someone receiving a 'special award' can still qualify for potm with their other posts.
I was taking this to read a separate thread but I guess it is open to interpretation

No need to be sorry torus, it's a valid point and not sour grapes at all
POTM winners have come from the same thread B4 and the post mention didn't have anything to do with the quiz really.

Yes, that's correct. It's based purely on the thanks given for a post, regardless of whether it happens to be in the same thread as another 'prize-winning' post by the same author

Thanks for the clarification Richard - I think Kev deserves an award for the sterling work he does with the quiz, etc.
