you can increase your share holdin by posting, starting topics etc.
I'd also like to see an end to shares for posting but only if/when the forums are stronger

There are only 2 options.
I suggest you vote for the proposed option then, which according to December's stats would reduce the % of shares given out for posts from 0.84% to 0.28%

If the new proposal gets a trial, and we see that there is no significant impact on the forums, you'll be in a stronger position to propose doing away with such rewards altogether

If we'd had an option 3 in the same poll, I think you'd find that votes against the current scheme would have been split between option 1 and 3

the number of shares for doing this is mimimal but it does keep the forums alive and there have been some really useful posts which may not have been made otherwise - so I am in favour of keeping it as it is :) :)

There are those who agree with and those who are convinced to agree with and I fall into neither of those categories ....

It's not quite like that. Existing shareholders have an incentive to vote in favour of the proposal if they think it that the quality and quantity of posts won't suffer as a result

Well, as they say in parliament, the Nays have it so the "shares-for-posting" arrangement will remain the same for February

We should probably reconsider this in a month or so...

Isn't that American? Don't we have Ayes to the right and Noes to the left?

A month is too soon. It should be reviewed every quarter.
