Should we scrap bank holidays?

Following on from the The Centre for Economics and Business Research recent research bank holidays cost the UK economy £19bn. Should we scrap bank holidays?

no way! ive had a lovely 4 days off work!! consumers still spend money over the bank holiday weekends though..

scrap bank holidays (inc Xmas), work overtime every day and weekends for no extra pay.Retire at 100 with no pension.

We already get one of the least amount of bank holidays in Europe as it is. Im not fond of Europe by any means, but instead of them telling us how straight bananas can be and stopping us deporting terrorists, i would glady take their holiday allowance in the name of European harmony.

We work more than 1/2 our life for buttons :( we need MORE bank holidays!

But... weekends cost a lot more! :!:

Obviously, we shouldn't scrap them. The suggestion is absurd. Working people need breaks - we're not machines!

they don't make any differenece once you're retired - something to look forward to
