Boris plays the clown to get the public to like him. The real Boris is a womanising right winger.

If you thought things were bad under this Govt. just see how bad things will be for the majority under a Boris led Govt. The rich will benefit even more and the poor will suffer even more.

And if anyone thinks he is doing a great job as Mayor of London might remember that he delegates the work to others and concentrates on the job of promoting Boris.

Boris would be bad, but May is like Thatcher without the vision. God help the UK with either in charge.

The expression "good Tory leader" is a non-sequitur. Least bad would be the best option......

I fear that when the front runners have ripped out each others throats, Jeremy hunt will pop up a candidate.

I fear the future in the UK; no one politician (not even Mr Fararge) has a long term view, all talk short term, all respond to the newspaper lead-lines instead of making them....

Politicians are driven by a desire to be re-elected at the next election. Even those in safe seats where your vote is pointless unless you are a supporter of your current MP they vote in support of what their leader is spouting 99.99% of the time. After all if you are choosing to give someone a job for life as an MP then you make sure they are party loyalists who will not rock the boat on anything.

Those who are retiring might be a bit more likely to speak out against the party line but usually put the good of the party before their private views.

But having said that I do feel that most MP's agree with their party line at the time. Hind sight is a wonderful thing and I wonder how many Labour MP's would vote for supporting the USA in the invasion of Iraq if they had known the truth about the weapons Saddam was said to have.

I'm amazed that only 30% of the vote think that Boris would be a joke as a PM - I can only imagine the other voters are joking or can't wait to see more of Boris and his antics...?
