So what would you do if [being an MEP] was your job and only source of income?
They gave up whatever they were doing in April to stand. As Ms Sarah notes, they could have done as Sinn Fein MPs do - not take their seat and not draw the salary. They could then have continued to do whatever they were doing before.
And there remains no excuse for the rudeness.
So what would you do if you were in their position and your only source of income was as an MEP?
So you quit your job to take on a job you not only don't want to do, but you want to bring down the company that employs you. You expected that you job would never actually start, but it has somehow, despite your best efforts.
Your question, Boro Boy, is "would I take the pay packet?"
Personally, I'm not so spiteful, vindictive and short-sighted that I would take on a job just to end it by deliberately undermining my new employer.
But then, neither would I complain about having to commute to my workplace, or being given tools to do my job, so maybe I'm just not in the same headspace as the Brexit Party MEPs.
If they really believe it is OK to take the money for not doing the job (indeed actively arguing against there even being a job), then I hope their employment is short-lived.
Me, no, I wouldn't be there in the first place, and if I didn't want the job, I'd be looking for another as soon as possible.
