Getting to that millstone made me recall my earlier days giving blood, Back then it was staffed by all female nurses, there was no questionnaire this was the pre AIDS day.
They did your iron test with a reusable scalpel which sat in a disinfect solution same scalpel for every session
it was 6 monthly sessions until you retired so you couldn't actually get to 100 donations. now it's every 16 weeks and you can give until you can't, there's no age limit
You had to lie on an old fashion camp bed and donate into a glass bottle whilst the nurse chatted to you. Nowadays you're in a chair which they roll you back they leave you on your own until the time beeps.
In the old days you get up off your canvas bed, get onto another canvas bed for exactly 8 minutes then you get a cup of tea poured into a cup with a saucer and a single digestive biscuit. Before COVID you could have a variety of hot drinks and snacks and nobody minded how many you had
