I picked it up on twitter but did sign-up to The Economist and couldn't find the original article/context on their website. They only allow non-paying members to read 3 articles per month, although the mask they use to block pages isn't very effective, still allowing the text behind it to be read, lol!

There is discussion that Truss will cancel the energy £60+ a month £400 total discount in favour of her plan to reduce the tax burden. Her argument is that it goes to everyone regardless of need and if the worse off need help it should be more targeted. We will see?

I am concerned that if either of these two get in it will be more of the same or worse. I can only be happy that a General Election will be coming along fairly soon and the electorate will have a chance to see what they are like and vote accordingly. (Not that I have a great lot of faith for the great British public to see beyond their noses) However they will have had their chance to change things if they care to take the opportunity.

I agree. Truss is potentially worse than Johnson, because she actually believes she knows something. It's like my dog scrabbling at a cushion due to some reason..... you know there's no real reason, you know it's pointless and potentially destructive..... but the dog does it anyway.

She was a LibDem, now she isn't; She was a remainer, now she isn't; She was a democrat, now..... she actually believes anyone wants her as PM. I'd prefer a goldfish...... rather than a trained parrot for the shadowy people who control her.
