Update and Greene King voucher book

Post by garindan » Sat Sep 02, 2017 6:27 pm

Hi members,

As you know - I have been having a bit of a hiatus from here. Unfortunately just over a week ago I lost my mum to cancer. I shall be otherwise engaged for a short while longer until various things are concluded. Obviously it hasn't been a very pleasant couple of months and I am very grateful to you all for treading water during this time

On another note - I received the annual shareholder perk voucher booklet for the Greene King shares we hold through the post this morning. Previously we had a short discussion of who was interested in these and the general thought was to perhaps share them out among those members who could use them. Unfortunately, on reviewing the terms and conditions of the vouchers it says the whole voucher book must be presented at the time of wishing to use a voucher and each voucher must be signed and dated there and then, witnessed by the staff. Under no circumstances are the vouchers to be presented individually. All vouchers are dated by month of the year, with there being two per month, starting this month (September). This being the case I cannot see how we can share these vouchers out unless we agree to send the booklet from one to another and allocate on a month by month basis to those interested. This will involve those members being happy for their personal contact details to be shared with at least one other member of the Club. I am not sure how everyone feels about this. Perhaps each member can reply to this message by cutting and pasting the "list" below and adding their username, either a yes or a no to wanting to be considered and if they are happy to have their contact details shared with another member (if you answered yes to the previous question), as follows:
1) Garindan - yes - yes
2)

Many thanks for your time

My sincere condolences on the loss of your beloved mother. A mum can never be replaced - even for a man who is grown up with his own family, own life and own business. Thins will never be the same.

May your beloved mother Rest In Peace. Amen.

I am so sorry for your loss. No matter how old we are when it comes to parents we are still there child. And no matter how young or old a loved one is there loss is so hard to bear. Yes, you have the consolation that your Mum is not suffering any more but that does not ease the pain of loss.

I am not sure how you have managed to do anything with the club under the circumstances.

So much to be organised and sorted plus your normal responsibilities to your family and your work. I hope nobody complains "we missed an opportunity there" in the coming weeks.

To try and wrap this up and following on from this discussion: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=79410 can I propose any members who are interested/not interested in the vouchers add new posts with their names in the same format as above, with a cut off at 5pm on Friday (23rd Feb)? Then a draw can be made that includes those members interested in receiving them.
