I think Richard's post as Treasurer and the Secretary's post in answer to your question on two separate threads, both confirming it has been sold is good enough not to need a third member to confirm the news ;)

I was only asking for a confirmation of the date...!?!

i'd have thought 26th May, on the basis that that's the date Richard told you "Sold".

Think it says a lot - positively - about the new method of selling. Once the scales tip, the deed is done.

Much more repsonsive, and required for times like these especially.

That's what the reply from the club secretary responded with, before you asked again!

I believe the ex-div date for the next dividend for this share was 29th May (am I correct?), if I am correct and I was a member of the investment club (which I am not) I would be asking in the strongest terms why this share was sold within days of qualifying for a Dividend.

Is there a good reason why a fairly stable investment was sold so quickly prior to and only days before the qualifying period for a well earned dividend qualification...? :wtf:

The due dividend was neither here nor there, as the price normally corrects in the period after going ex-div. It doesn't mean the price stays the same or continues to rise, the dividend aside. It is even less of a worry when you are selling to release the full capital investment. Besides all this the club decided to sell in the vote, which is how it works.

To be honest I was expecting you to write exactly what you did. However, I'm quite surprised if it is your true belief, as you mentioned this on the 26th April, with regard to WarehouseREIT, suggesting we should sell when the buy price was 94p:

We may be on the verge of a property crash and if the last property crash is anything to go by the markets did not differentiate (much) between commercial and domestic property.

Now I can't see the future or I would be winning the lottery each week but I can see what is happening and history does repeat itself so you may want to consider the property content of your portfolio...
I'd say us holding and selling for 111p, for a >8% gain, was a good decision, rather than selling in late April for a >6% loss, taking the previous divis into account.

I find this policy hard to believe and it may be one that your club should review?

To say the club voted for the sale of the shares is of course true but were they given the facts that had the sale happened a couple of days later that they would have qualified for a dividend payment?

Additionally the statement that the share price drops immediately after the ex-div date is passed seems to be untrue in this instance: Warehouse REIT - sold 26th range 1.095p to 1.12p or 29th May 1.125p to 1.16p both approx.

So you would have qualified for a dividend and sold at a higher sale price had the sale occurred later; where members given that possible scenario when asked to vote on the sale or did someone else make that decision on their behalf? The statement "Selling at Best" seems to have been ignored here... :wtf:
