Looking at Ramsdens again today. A dividend is due mid January. Thinking if we want to sell then perhaps leaving it until the week before might be worth thinking about? Any thoughts on that?
As a general rule when a share goes ex-divi then the price does drop slightly.
Yes, this was why I was thinking we should perhaps look to sell about a week before the ex-divi kicks in.
The Ramsdens ex-dividend date for the next dividend, the interim dividend, is 16/01/2020.

Excellent trading update today from Ramsdens. Now trading at 247.5p, up over 5% today on the news. I can't see this one dropping back at the moment. Perhaps more than 250p target - will be interesting to see what brokers rate it after the news.

As I write, up +34.5% profit.
In that case, maybe collect the dividend and ride the share high?

I think it might be wise. Worth everyone having a think about it. It seems rude to turn our noses up at a potential 35% profit, but from the soundings we could be looking at a fair bit more yet.

This from AVN forums:
Tipped last night on Master Investor with a 280p target:
Https://masterinvestor.co.uk/equities/s ... 7-34898813 "Ramsdens Holdings (LON:RFX) – strong trading ahead of expectations As a result of strong trading across the business the board now expects the full year pre-tax profits to be comfortably ahead of market expectations. Well, is that positive enough for you? The diversified financial services provider and retailer enjoyed a great Christmas trading period. This company is a fast-growing operator in four core business sectors – foreign currency exchange, pawnbroking loans, precious metals buying and selling, and the retailing of second hand and new jewellery. It would normally announce its annual results in June – however that could well be brought forward – remember ‘good news always travels faster’. As the shares close the week trading at 247p, after breaking my 2020 target price at 251p last Wednesday, I fancy them for a slip back and then another upwards run, perhaps to 280p or thereabouts. The finals trading update is normally due in early April, leaving some ‘stock playing time’."

Ended @253p today. Personally I think I'd be very happy with 265p as a new price to change my vote to sell.

Risen to 258p by 10:30am today. Ex-Divi tomorrow but holding until after looks sensible - not sure the price will drop off much.
