POLL: We want option to transfer our shares to active member

Post by superman » Wed Aug 27 2014 11:27pm

We have tried the following extremes.

POLL: We want option of who to will our shares to in "My Account"...
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=43905

POLL: We want option to buy, sell or transfer our shares
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=44929

I propose we try the middle path and see if we can find a consensus.

Could this be open to abuse?

People registering to get the free shares then transferring them in to there main account?

To repeat my comment from the previous thread:
On the separate suggestion of being able to sell or transfer shares to others. This does have some merit, but has significant legal implications. When we drafted the original T&Cs and shareholder agreement, we needed a model which avoided any legal / regulatory complications and made the company as easy to adminster as possible.
Can someone spell out exactly how this would work:
- are we talking about floating the company or creating some kind of internal trading systems
- If the latter, how do we do this and what are the legal / regulatory implications
- What would be the costs (esp. legal) of setting up and maintaining the process
- What would the benefits be? Is there any evidence of demand for the shares at this stage?
I just think the poll is very premature, as the details haven't really been fleshed out

I refuse to vote, this has been done to death. As Richard has pointed out there are dangers and it needs to be done properly and the correct place and time is the AGM.

And like all publicly listed companies it should be one share one vote not one member one vote.

Yes: 25%

I think your current polls have less chance of success than the yes vote in Scotland and even that is behind in the polls.

Safeguards would need to be put in place. For example active member for at least a year.

Well if nothing else all this rubbish helps keep the forum alive. Can't see any other point. There seems to be no real discussion making the case for the proposal..
