Re: why capped

Yesterday our modem went down for a couple of minutes before it could restart itself. But when my husband tried to do the Ice Lolly thinking a modem reset it would be OK he was told the maximum number of visits had been done.

Today my first attempt (and thus first in the household) I am told "The current limit of 1 visit per day has already been reached for IP address 86.133.43.24."

Whilst BT is dynamic IP address as opposed to Static IP address, often doesnt change when router is rebooted.

Sometimes works, sometimes it does not when we reset modem so cap means one but not both of us can do the click once a day

I find that if I am resetting my number by turning off the modem the longer it is left the better. A minimum of ten minutes and then not always guaranteed. It has been known that i have had to redo it three times to force a change.
