Hi all,

I'm new to the cashback world but looking forward to getting as much back as I can.

Hope you don't mind if I have any dopey questions.

Thanks in advance for any help!

There is no such thing as a dopey question - but some of the answers may qualify :D

Welcome

Ok guys, I have a question about a merchant - booking.com
The Merchant has 2 cashback options, the £8 fixed reward is what I am enquiring in regards to. I am looking at booking 5 consecutive days at a hotel in Bournemouth and I'm assuming that if I booked in one block I would receive £8 cashback. However if I did 5 separate bookings for each day, would I receive £8 for each booking?

Hope you can help.
Thanks Ad.

Firstly, welcome!

Secondly, it would seem the best idea is to go for 5 separate bookings as you say, so long as your stay for 5 nights wouldn't be discounted should you book 5 days in a row at the same time. Clearly getting the cashback might now make up for the discount offered for the longer stay.... This brings me to a note of caution - cashback should be treated as a bonus at all times and shouldn't be taken into account in the purchase of whatever it is you are looking at!

If you are going to go for 5 separate transactions it would be sensible to close the browser and empty your cookies and start from imutual each time, before each new transaction, so that the transactions successfully track as a new transaction. You don't want to make 5 bookings without this happening else you wasted your time.

Thirdly, as a point of warning, I haven't tried your approach before and it would be best to wait for someone else to comment on the chances of this being successful before you go ahead!

Fourthly, once you have settled in why not take a look at the link in my signature as it might be of interest.

First always clear your cookies.

If it was me I would do it as one transaction if the cost is less. I factor out the cashback and look at the real numbers and treat cashback as a good bonus.

Slight downside to 5 different bookings may be having to check in and out of different rooms each day..................

Welcome to the family, and we all remember being confused newbies so feel free to ask. And make sure you do the dailies everyday. I cannot guarantee that each and everyone will track every day. But I can guarantee that you will earn here.
Keep smiling because the light at the end of someone's tunnel may be you, Ron Cheneler
