Wrong, I merely discount it. History is written by the victors.
The sinking of the Belgrano was morally wrong and a stain on the record of the Royal Navy. I worked with CSS Alert that went to the Falklands carrying SBS troops - even with the catastrophic attacks on UK surface vessels, the sailors were sickened at the thought of a submarine sinking a ship in the South Atlantic with absolutely no way to rescue the 1100 men on board. They understand death at sea - the death toll could easily have been much higher than it was. So regardless of the legal niceties and the blasé comments of a senior officer, the attack was not justified but carried out for the sake of headlines in the Sun.
Thatcher is an inappropriate choice.

I strongly disagree but please note I didn't call your statement (however wrong it is) garbage!

Your disagreement is noted. However, as I have not posted provocative garbage, I see no reason to expect it to be called such. Or do you stand by the suggestion that I condone the invasion of the Falklands or that there was any legal or moral equivalence between the sinking of the Belgrano and the sinking of the Bismark?
Thatcher is an inappropriate choice (as proven by the divisive nature of this thread)

The real issue for macliam with Thatcher is that he doesn't want loads of pictures of her every timr he opens his wallet
Now, he could change them into 20's but then he need 2 wallets
He would keep getting mistaken for expressman33
Politically incorrect since 69

Not much....
The thread is not divisive merely the comments of some members. Unfortunately I find some members can do little more that knock others comments no matter what they are. This is undoubtably why few new members make comments other that hello, followed by a fast goodbye and rarely to be seen again.

Well, you know where the door is.
I think people may be put off by your personal ego trip..... attempting to keep the maximum number of posts going ad infinitum, whilst lecturing people on what they should and should not say.
Check back over your posts and see how many had real content..........

Or were even thanked compared to the thanks on the replies.

Now that is not a nice post is it and not the sort of personal assault I wouldn't expect from a member. If you are that incited by my input on here start a pole to reject me from commenting (other than the competition forum) on here again and I will abide by the result. Personally I think it would be easier to apologise and keep your personal comments off this forum.
