Not at all - but I don't suffer fools gladly.

This thread has lost all relevancy. You may come back preaching if you like, but I'm out.

Not preaching, just expect civility

Almost a week ago, you started a new thread with a question about capped transactions. I gave a fairly full reply which Kevchess echoed. Now I don't need a constant stream of thanks, but there is no sign that you even returned to that thread, let alone found the comments useful.

So, if you want to talk about expecting civility, perhaps you should have a word with the person in your mirror.

At last the official nomination list is available to accept votes on the Bank of England website: https://www.bankofengland.co.uk/banknot ... ominations

The pole is accepting votes for deceased scientists; low and behold Margaret Thatcher (apart from being the First Female Prime Minister) is also a deceased scientist so open for nomination.

Note the report on the BBC website
"There were also petitions, both rejected, to either put Margaret Thatcher on the £50 note, or to ensure her portrait was not on it. Although a chemist before she entered politics, it is still highly unlikely that the former prime minister will make it onto the shortlist.
.....
The committee which draws up the shortlist will now include space scientist Maggie Aderin-Pocock, author and genetics expert Emily Grossman, editor of the British Journal for the History of Science Simon Schaffer, and theoretical and particle physicist Simon Singh.
"
So, I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you......

I'd vote for Stephen Hawking. Although I'd prefer him on a lower denomination that is used more.

On the Belgrano topic(!) from what I have read I think it was justified to sink it as the Argentinian navy were planning a big attack. But it was a stupid war where a fascist regime (Argentina not Thatcher!) sent in some conscripts to the Falklands. Britain was right to retake it with the army.
