Story here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-47299907

My understanding is that she does not have Dual Nationality It is not legal for any government to make anyone stateless.

Bound to be the subject of a legal Challenge. Someone will take it up on her behalf.

Since the original BBC article was written it has been updated to take into account the fact that she may be a national of Bangladesh through her mother. If this is true that would make her a dual national.

You're right, May as Home Secretary in 2014 said it is illegal to make your own citizens stateless. It surprises me tho as this girl is a traitor and deserves no mercy. Her child should be allowed in the country tho the sins of the parent should not be visited on the innocent child.

Under the 1981 British Nationality Act, a person can be deprived of their citizenship if the home secretary is satisfied it would be "conducive to the public good" and they would not become stateless as a result.

I know this won't go down well but....

It is not legal for her British Citizenship removed so this is a load of rubbish. No one can be intentionally left stateless by a country so it cannot happen.
This is a young girl who was groomed, as much a victim of abuse as those young white girls from Rotherham etc, however her grooming was into radicalisation rather than sex although of course the grooming was to go abroad and be married off to fighters so in a way it is for sex.

She has also been brainwashed and damaged by her experiences and the people around her.

She is a little more dangerous than your average 19 year old Muslim female but all of that is manageable. She is no more repugnant and a lot less dangerous than Boris Johnson who was not even born in the UK but is anyone calling for his citizenship to be removed?

If she comes back and there is nothing to stop her just turning up she is a British Citizen with a right of entry then it should be with conditions.

Firstly the child should be given up so it can be brought up in a less radicalised way.

Secondly she should be investigated to see if she herself has committed any crimes and also to find out who it was who radicalised her in this country and see if they can be brought to justice.

Further abusing a victim of abuse is not a nice thing but it is sadly where our compassion is at the moment AWOL!

I suspect a majority of the British public would agree with you. Vengeance and retribution is popular nowadays.

Unfortunately this Country has a habit of ignoring international law and its own rulings, So it could happen if the Maybot and her sidekick determine so.

I don't agree with everything timco says, but I applaud the willingness to offer an alternative perspective to the vengeance and hatred we are hearing.
this girl is a traitor and deserves no mercy
But the Lord (or Allah, if you prefer) is merciful, and so should we be. That doesn't mean that her alleged crimes are not investigated and, if appropriate, punished.

I doubt this will go down well either...
Why must a young lady be term a 'weak woman?'
She and her mates, made money, book flights and brought suitable clothing and thoughth out a plan to get to Syria
Whre is the evidence she was groomed, radicalised or abused?
Would we be diusscussing her in such terms if she were male?
She was neither abducted nor lured into this Why dont we believe she was passionate but of sound mind
Nothing I've read about this story says she shows any remorse or regret
Having said that I'm fairly certain that we can't make her stateless all though all countries pick and choose what laws they follow
I suspect eventually we will let her back in, we are that type of country
I hope her child is look after, that poor baby has done no wrong yet and shpouldn't have to suffer
Just my opinion

According to the BBC news this evening, her mother is a Bangladeshi citizen which gives the daughter automatic citizenship of that country., although she has never been there. Lots of work for the Lawyers.
