Immigration has bought nothing but good to this country. Immigrants over many years have worked and paid taxes and contributed to the life and diversity of this country in many untold ways. How insular would we be without them? I welcome them and all the good they bring to the country.
Oddly we were discussing only yesterday how immigrants have benefited this country over the centuries. How far back to you want to go? The Normans conquered the Anglo Saxons and had profound effects on England and to some extent Wales. The Strangers as they were known were Protestants from The Low Countries who settled in places like Norwich. Because of the skills they brought with them Norwich became foremost in producing the cloth the rich desired. No longer one colour but multi print cloth was being produced in East Anglia. And they brought the Canary with them and they became so accepted their bird was in many houses of the locals. And of course came to be the nickname of Norwich City FC centuries later.

The way Jews were treated in Eastern Europe meant many came here from the late 19th century onwards. Just think what those refugees/immigrants have done for this country.

Yes, some immigrants are criminals but then again so are some of indigiousness Brits..

Of course, something comes out of a Labour conference it gets its own thread.

Our beloved Prime Minister uses the murder of a Labour MP to score cheap points and no one bats an eyelid.

Bias much?

Perhaps we've just become so inured to inflammatory language from the Scum, D*ily M*il, etc that indeed, we don't bat an eyelid.

Or perhaps we feel that yesterday was no real difference from what is happening elsewhere and whats the point of calling it out to get nowhere.

In my humble opinion, it was below the belt.
