my dad has day-traded TCG over time. the difference, for me, is that i think that Metro can actually have a long-term future.

Next, keep your eyes on Thomas Cook shares...
Mmm up almost 19% today!!!
Well done you
Metro Bank up 5%+ on the day
Thomas Cook up 21%+ on the day
I have made a decent bit of money on both these shares in a relatively short period of time. I have sold my original stake in each but kept the remaining shares as profit so even if they both went bust tomorrow I would loose nothing, meanwhile have the benefit of potential further capital growth and future dividend income basically for free.
Has anyone followed my example?

Not on this occasion as I'm starting a new high-tech bio business so don't have the time to play day trading like I used to.

Still time to pile in...!?!
Did you mean long or short?
Long, one would hope it can only start to recover now as its business plan is sound and adjustment for its recent mishap must have surely now of happened...
Short might've been a better choice; MTRO down 19.19% today to a new low:

the new branch in Birmingham is now open.
I have been in to check their rates, but nothing appealing, and no incentives for moving accounts to them.
