good to see, and they seem to be doing a good job in-store.
most of the stores around us are regional co-ops, not 'CWS', but some stores have followed the new branding.

Always confused by all the different Coop's. When I'm travelling I notice that "national" offers for Coop are not necessarily adopted by "regional" Coop's... Very confusing! Don't know how that works...!?!

They are different companies but take national branding, A bit like Spar or Nisa. NB: NISA was an independent company but was bought out by the Co-operative Group Think of The CWS (Co-operative Wholesale Society) as a wholesaler. Although CWS does run its own shops as well.

Not sure how much it ranks as good news:
Total revenues at the Co-op jumped 14% to £10.2 billion
while
Underlying pre-tax profits were flat at £43 million
Although I suppose keeping profits flat is something of an achievement in the current retail climate. It's a tiny level of profits, though. Tesco UK is about four times the size and makes about 25 times the profit (the figures may not be wholly comparable but the contrast is striking).

What company is this please? Not the co-op?

Yes, its not clear in that report whether this is The CWS (which I suspect it is) or one of the regional co-op's or indeed the whole lot lumped together.

This one is East of England co-op https://finder.coop.co.uk/food/store/CM ... ross-roads which is a different company than, this one https://finder.coop.co.uk/food/store/HR ... dbury-road which is CWS or this one https://finder.coop.co.uk/food/store/CT ... rsham-road which is part of the southern co-op. Or even this one which is an independent https://finder.coop.co.uk/food/store/CT2-7SG/parkwood

All very confusing.

It is very doubtful, although not impossible that the independent Co-ops will ever give up their mutual status. They are more likely to be absorbed into the CWS or the Co-op group.
