I've got $100 or so in US Dollars in my PayPal account and will be travelling to the USA next month.
Clearly I could transfer to a UK bank account (converting to GBP) and then buy USD but that incurs two lots of margin.
Anyone know of a way of withdrawing the USD balance in cash that avoids multiple fees?
As an alternative, is PayPal usable for in-person transactions?

There's a prince in Nigeria who will happily sort out that problem for you.......
Other than that, I can't help....

I've used paypal for person-to-person transactions in Europe, but was charged a transaction fee.
No fees for UK transactions.
Perhaps use paypal to pay for something whilst in the USA?

I didn't mean person to person transactions. I was thinking of payment in store rather than online.

Why not buy something in the US (ebay/amazon etc.) and have delivered to your hotel (or wherever you're gonna stay)?
Maybe something small that you can carry home easily.

Thanks all.
Good suggestion to make an online purchase for local delivery. As it's a fairly short visit, I don't think I'd want to rely on it arriving in the right period.
