Do they? Went into Lloyds in the early afternoon last week and tried to get some £5 notes. The cashier had a run on notes earlier and only had 3 left, less than I had asked for. Obviously not able to top up her desk and her colleague had computer problems. So I had the bare minimum I needed and will have to go in hope again tomorrow.

i don't know why you specifically need £5 notes. it's very rare that i would want to withdraw cash from a counter, and very unusual that i want to withdraw cash from a cash machine, and if i do i wouldn't care what denomination the notes were in.
