And you say you see risks in app-based banking. Presumably you mean greater/additional risks to regular internet banking. Would you like to elaborate on that?

Well, I've downloaded the app, and wasted an hour trying to figure it out.

" We need some information to get you access to your existing account(s)"

It then asks for account type. I select Personal.

Next it asks for Account or Debit/Credit Card number.

I don't have one, that's why I'm signing up!

Next box... Social Security Number [we only have a National Insurance number in UK, but the app doesn't allow letters, only numbers].

Tap on "Social Security Number. Don't have one?". Date of Birth, I think it says, as it's partially overwritten!

Enter date.

No facility to input a date, and brings up a calendar which you need to scroll back, one month at at time for decades.

Uninstalled.

This is the kind of crap that makes me hate phone apps.

A pity, as 1.5% is a good rate.

Thanks for the link.

A search for Chase UK doesn't yield any results in Play Store on my phone.

Chase Bank is suggested as an alternative search, which gives me the Chase Mobile app that I installed previously.

Soooo... I emailed the above link to myself.

Clicked the link, and... "Your device isn't compatible with this version"

The website says "Requires Android 8.0 and up". I have a Moto E with Android 8.0, and it's up to date.

It shouldn't be this difficult, FFS.

More than this, the suggestion is that access to your money may depend on what technology the bank decides you should use...... :(

Ah, bad luck. That at least explains why you didn't find it when searching, i.e. the store usually filters out results that it thinks are incompatible with your device.

Android 8.0 should be compatible, though.

Tried again
Two different ID documents, one face, six refusals.
Called helpline who could only say try again.

It apparently requires Android 8.1 or later.

I can only offer the tips previously posted here. Good luck!
