A difference is interest rates but just like the bad old days savings are worth less due to inflation despite higher interest rates

i saw a headline on Stocks that The Times were reporting this rate Mac, but i couldn't see beyond their paywall. i wouldn't want to tie up cash for a full 12 months, but it's a handy rate, no doubt.

If you hold an Online Savings Account or Cash ISA and you have already added the bonus rate of 0.34% gross, your total rate will be 4.60% AER / 4.50% gross.
This change takes effect from today.
