having made a 99p purchase, paid the balance by DD, and showing as 'Confirmed' on TCB, is there any need to keep the account open?

I'll keep mine open until Quidco pay the cashback (or until no hope of them paying remains). They still haven't...

it shouldn’t be necessary to do that, i wouldn’t have thought, but it would feel easier to argue a case with the account still open.

have to wait 6 months from closing before bagging another HSBC card i believe, otherwise i'd be into this.

Just checked the status of my HSBC credit card cashback. Tracked after claim, but no update since August 2023. So it's presumably not going to pay out. On that basis, I'm not enthusiastic for repeating the experience!
