What ever happened to the "Don't cross the road until the Green Man shows!"? Is political correctness taking over completely and now we have unisex crossings...?

This is taking the biscuit. Has someone been photoshopping or lost their marbles?

I can confirm that it is not photoshopped, it is just off Strand near Aldwych where it meets Fleet Street... here in full unisexual public view...!!! Where have the local highway authorities marbles gone...!?!

There's loads in Berlin with mixed and same sex couples instead of just one man.
In Iceland I saw green hearts instead of a green man.

Here's a version of the story that Boro Boy will appreciate. I don't think it mentions lost marbles, but it does use 'baffled' which is nearly as good.

Father-of-two Anthony Smith said he didn’t know what to do when he saw two female symbols on the green traffic light.
Mr Smith, of Preston, Lancashire, said: “When the light went green I saw the two female symbols and I thought, ‘Oh right, so my missus can cross with my little girl but what do me and the boy do?’
For his entire life Mr Smith has happily crossed the road leaving the rest of his family behind, believing that the green man symbol meant only one one male could cross at a time.

I think we can all understand a man in green or person if you must be politically correct. But how many understand the meaning of the symbols let alone know which means male and which means female?

...I'm hoping we all understand green for go whatever our political (correctness) persuasion! No the less, this does seem a step too far and certainly messes up any rhyme to teach children how to use a zebra crossing...
