183037 daily number of people tested positive reported yesterday, including approx 23000 from NI over Xmas.

All lateral flow test home delivery slots gone by early morning for the second successive day. Shortage of PCR test slots too.

It's going so well that the government says it's building around 60 field hospitals to deal with the anticipated rush of omicron cases, but does not need to consider any changes to guidance or restrictions.

As I managed to get my second vax from a walk-in just before Christmas, I thought I'd be a good boy and release the Jan 5th appointment I made before getting that opportunity. So I went onto the website, clicked to manage my previous appointment, entered NHS number and DoB and...... got kicked out as apparently I "don't need to arrange a second vaccination". So, that'll be a no, then......

You might think that this i because the system is Sooooo clever that it knows that I have had my second jab and so has released my appointment automatically. But I doubt it, very much. One reason I doubt it is because my vaccine "passport" appears to show I have had 2 jabs and a booster..... except that the dates of the second jab and the booster are the same and the batch number is identical

How much to guess the trouble that will cause when it actually becomes time for a booster? How much to guess whether there is an obvious way to change that information.... :?
Just because I'm paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not out to get me

Finally managed to order a lateral flow test kit today for the first time in over a week.

Today I got a reminder about my jab appointment, so I followed the instructions to cancel it online.

It still took my NHS number and DoB and then said there was no need to book an appointment, without any option to "manage" my existing apoointment.

I'm sure 8 year-olds could code better........

Does nobody actually test this carp? :eh:
