That interview fallout

Post by blythburgh » Sat Mar 13 2021 9:24am

We only saw a bit of the interview due to football on another channel. But we have heard bits and pieces in the media.

The most shocking thing to us about what the Meghan said was the fact she obviously had mental health problems but was told in no uncertain way by Palace officials she must not seek medical help. Why was this considered a no no when her husband and brother in law had admitted to their own mental health struggles. Were they denied medical help as well?

But the media seems obsessed by allegations of racism. But I have heard several BAME people say it is openly discussed in our family when one of them becomes pregnant. I have heard "white" families wondering if it will have the hair colour of Mum or Dad, especially if one of them is a redhead.

A rather crass remark about the colour of the skin is far less important in our opinion than the way Meghan's mental health was treated. Did they learn nothing from the time Diana was married to Charles? Seems not and that is so sad

I've decided to respect Harry and Meghan's request for privacy by not watching their Oprah interview.

The mental health issue doesn't get the Daily Mail readers riled up as much as the potential racism one.

And the racism issue doesn't get Waitrose shoppers as excited as the Mental health one.
