Never a Charlie on the drums

Charlie Watts death means The Rolling Stones will never sound quite the same again. But the sound he helped define will live on as the music he produced will never die

I saw the Stones twice before they hit the big time. In fact my now brother in law was in a support group at one of the gigs. Mick Jagger swore and then noticed my sister and said "pardon my French". Did not fit the image of him compared to The Beatles at that time.

And someone stole Mick's harmonica at one gig. He announced it from the stage but the group managed to get round it, very professional musicians even at that early stage in their career.
